Dedicated to Chamundeswari, this temple is built on a hill accessible by a motorable road. This temple has been patronized by the Wodeyar Kings of Mysore. There are several Nandis on the hill, one of them being a colossal structure. It dates back to the 17th century. The oldest temple on the hill, that of Mahabaleswara dates back to the Hoysala period.
