Talakad Vaidyeswara Temple at Talakad near Mysore(Karnataka)

Vaidyeswara temple is the most prominent of the Panchalinga temples, the other four being dedicated to Arkeswara, Pataleswara, Maraleswara and Mallikarjuna, The temples date back to the Chola period and also bear several Hoysala and Vijayanagar features.The Kirtinarayana temple of the 12th century is built in the Chalukyan style. Many of the monuments in Talakad were buried by sand dunes for which this area is known. The Panchalinga pilgrimage is of significance in Nov-December.
