Kunnakkudi near Karaikkudi Deities: Subramanya Swamy This is a temple built on a hill with a flight of steps leading to it. Shanmuganathar or Kartikeya is the presiding deity here. Of great archeological and artistic interest are the cave temples at the foot of the hills. These cave temples date back to the eighth century AD. The Kunnakkudi temple has been revered in the Tiruppugazh. Kunnakkudi is situated close to Karaikudi near Madurai.
