The Snake Concerto Composed a concerto for Indian Strings and Orchestra inspired by Indian folk music themes which was performed by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra conducted by John Morris Russel at the Cincinnati Music Hall and at the Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati Ohio. Festival of Freedom: (Aug 2004)Conducted a choral performance of excerpts from the music of Shanti at the historic inauguration of the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati. Chants for Peace At the Millennium Peace Celebration, Xavier University, Cincinnati Ohio, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the World Peace Council, September 2000. Created musical arrangements of ancient Vedic chants and performed them to a delegation of peace activists. Surya A celebration of the Winter Solstice (Dec 2003) A choral performance of a first of its kind arrangement of ancient Sanskrit chants celebrating the life sustaining source of energy. SURYA marked the debut performance of the Greater Cincinnati Indian Community Choir founded by Kanniks that went on to perform Shanti in conjunction with other community choruses. Sonic OM A panoramic lecture presentation of Indian Classical music spanning the genres of dhrupad and Karnatic Music.
THE SNAKE CONCERTO: As a musician, Kanniks has collaborated with leading artistes from around the world. His work The Snake Concerto inspired by Indian folk melodies and composed for an orchestra was performed by the prestigious Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, conducted by John Morris Russell. In SURYA, Kanniks explores ancient Indian liturgical chants extoling the sun, the inexhaustible source of life sustaining energy. SURYA marked the debut performance of the Greater Cincinnati Indian Community Choir founded by Kanniks that went on to perform Shanti in conjunction with other community choruses.
