Significance: Mandiragiri is
located in Malaippalayam near Udumalaippettai and Pollachi is an ancient shrine to
Murugan, revered by the Tiruppukazh hymns of the saint poet Arunagirinathar
of Tiruvannamalai. Arunagirinathar refers to
Mandiramalai as Tenserigiri.The Perumaal malai Vishnu temple is located nearby.
The temple: This temple is built on a small hill, accessed by a motorable
road, as well as a flight of steps. The presiding deity Mantrachala Perumaan
is Subramanyar, enshrined with his consorts Valli and Deivayanai. Other
shrines here include those to Ganesha, Shiva, Parvati and Vishnu. Water springs by name
Idumban Sunai, Darbai sunai and Theertha sunai are seen on the
hill.
