Description:
This temple is located in the vicinity of the Chariot base (TherNilai) of the grand Tyagarajar Temple at Tiruvarur.
Aarurparavayumantal;i is regarded as the 89th in the series of Tevara
Stalams in Chola Nadu south of the river Kaveri.
The Shivalingam glistens in
the light of the camphor lamps waved during worship services. Durvasa muni is believed to
have worshipped here, and his image is seen near that of Vinayakar. Legends associated
with this temple state that Shiva swallowed the mighty deluge sent by Varunan the
rain God. Sundaramoorthy Nayanar, closely associated with Tiruvarur is said to have
