Description:
This is one of the two Shivastalams in Eezhanaadu, the other being Tirukkonamalai (Triconamalee). Kethu is said to have
worshipped this shrine in Sri Lanka (on the banks of Paalavi), which later fell into
destruction during Portugese rule. Bhrigu muni is believed to have worshipped Shiva here.
Although this shrine has not been visited by the Nayanmars, Sambandar and Sundarar sang
its praises from Rameswaram on the other side of
the ocean. |
