The Govindaraja
Perumal temple in Tirupati and the Padmavati temple at Tiruchanoor
are well visited temples. A visit to the Tiruchanoor temple is considered
mandatory for those undertaking a pilgrimage to Tirupati. Kalahasti,
one of the Pancha Bhoota Shrines of Shiva is located nearby.
Access and Accomodation: Tirupati, the town at the foothills of Tirumala is well connected by train
with several cities in India, the closest being Chennai (Madras). A well planned trip can cover Kalahasti,
Tirumala, Tirupati and Tiruchanur in a single day. Tirupati can boast of a number of
hotels and restaurants. Tirumala is accessed from Tirupati via a mountain road, on which
ply regular buses.

hill and its environs and the pilgrims that visit the temple and to several
